Have you ever been to the opera? Seen a foreign film? Taken in a play?

The Art and Language departments at the SRSS are doing all of the above! We know not all students are able to fit Spanish, Band, Dance, Choir, Drama, Art or French into their schedules. There are so many options out there for our students! So, the departments have started an Arts Club.

Arts Club is for ALL students at the SRSS, not just the ones who take Arts and Languages classes. It is  an opportunity for all learners, including students and staff, to make connections, and build community, collaboration and creativity in a fun and safe environment. The Arts help students build social, emotional and intellectual engagement. It gives everyone the chance to take part, experience art culture and school community, and expand their horizons. There is a Google Classroom and Instagram account for the Arts Club. We have spread the word through word of mouth and in the school announcements.

The first experience that we have organized is Evening at the Opera. The response has been overwhelming! There will be 3 busloads of students going to the Opera in March! Students get super discounted tickets and transportation to the most popular Opera in the world.
